18 & 19 weeks

18 weeks:  Will had his four month doctor's appointment this week.  He measured in at 25 inches long and weighed 13 lbs 12 oz...right on target!  unfortunately, this trip also involved more shots, but he handled them like a tough guy.  from my point of view, shots are the worst...his cry when he realizes he is in pain is heart wrenching!

19 weeks: the lighting in this picture is terrible because i had forgotten to take it (i was three days late taking pictures this week) and had to snap a few right before bed. at least i was still able to get some smiles. 18 and 19 weeks, but moreso 19 weeks, has seen more determination to become mobile. Will can get his knees up under him, but the arms aren't quite ready to cooperate. this incites loads of frustration.

i recently found the coolest site called blinkbuggy...a digital baby book.  i got two really nice baby books at my shower and have yet to crack them open (sorry to those who got them for me).  i don't even have thank you cards out to folks who gave us lovely gifts after Will was born (oy vey!), let alone entries in a baby book. BUT blinkbuggy is awesome. you can throw in pictures, mark milestones, record funny things that are said, share the pages with friends and family...AND the creators of the site are working on a printing option so that after, say, a year, you could have your pages printed into a book...like a shutterfly picture book. other than this blog, i think it seems like a great place to put some of the thousands of pictures that we already have of this kid!

he managed to scoot himself completely off of the blanket...making his way over to boo...

...he made it...and boo's tongue is out because she just tasted his face. awesome. the sock in the background is one of approximately 23 that boo drug out of the hamper that day.

16 & 17 weeks

i am ashamed to say that i have no idea what happened in the last two weeks. it has been a blur. but i do know that my kid is getting big.  every day he looks different to me...more plump! :-)  his 4 month doctor's appointment is this week, including shots. boo! (the utterance of disapproval not the dog) i can't wait to see how much he weighs.

16 weeks: this was the best we were going to get.  Will had a little cold this week...thank you daycare!

17 weeks: oh how i love this picture...the rolls around the wrists and thighs, the chunky cheeks, the look...either he's thinking of something funny or getting ready to poop

here's the mashup....sort of unbelievable to me

as far as boo is concerned...

as far as boo is concerned, this has all been one big mistake.

prior to may 13, boo was #1.  long evening walks, sprinting sessions in the backyard, frequent kongs full of peanut butter, laying all over us in bed.

post may 13, she is a solid #2.  an occasional walk when we have the energy, play sessions in the backyard only when we HAVE to go out there to mow the grass, kongs full of peanut butter to occupy her for 10 minutes, confining her to the middle foot-of-the-bed (sleep is too precious now).  to say she's been neglected would be a little strong, but she definitely is not getting enough attention these days.  we are trying to work on that.  all things considered, she has been wonderful through this "little" transition.

boo didn't really know what to do when Will came home, but she immediately realized there was a change in the house.  she was a little sulky for a few weeks....severely jealous when it came to brian's affections.  she only acknowledged Will's presence when his toes were available for a few licks.

Week 1 (or 2?)

now Will is starting to watch her, and she is starting to check in on him.  this morning, i was up working and heard him start to stir.  boo trotted in, stood up over the bassinet, and stayed there until i came in to check on him.

she looks suspicious of me

so i'm starting to think that boo is changing her mind about Will.  the only thing that could possibly be better than playing with our socks is playing with Will's socks. as Will was watching me do dishes, this is the event i saw take place...

this feels like the beginnings of a very ornery partnership.

iphone photo dump

i have been reminded by some (ahem...aunt della :-) that i've been awol here lately.  life is crazy when you both work and have a baby (i realize this is not new information).  i have been keeping up with Will's weekly pictures, but they just haven't made it from the camera to the computer yet.  but i will say, the rolls on his legs are starting to get out of control!

here are some random pictures from my phone from the last few weeks...not the greatest quality, but cute nonetheless

brian finally has a football watching buddy
